Jason has more than 18 years of experience representing public agencies and school districts, with a practice focused on employment, contracts, and public records compliance. A former Assistant Attorney General for Washington State, he is a frequent presenter on public records and education law topics. He is a partner at Stevens Clay, P.S., where he has worked since 2022.

  • Jason Brown brings a wealth of experience representing school districts and public agencies across Washington. Before joining Stevens Clay, he served as an Assistant Attorney General for more than a decade. In that time, he defended the state in workers’ compensation claims and tort cases. In addition, Jason advised state agencies on employment, education, and real property law. Jason’s practice includes contract drafting, regulatory compliance, and litigation, with specialized expertise in the Public Records Act. He is a frequent presenter on school law topics and a trusted advisor to public entities navigating complex legal challenges.
