Jason K. Mackay

With more than 15 years of legal experience, Jason has represented educational institutions since 2020, focusing on personnel matters, investigations, collective bargaining, and litigation. He is a frequent presenter for WSSDA, WSPA, and ERNN legal workshops, and is a partner at Stevens Clay, P.S., where he has worked since 2020.

  • Jason MacKay represents Washington and Idaho educational institutions in education, employment, and labor law. He provides strategic counsel on collective bargaining, personnel discipline and investigations, constitutional issues, and compliance with the Public Records Act and Open Public Meetings Act. Jason’s litigation experience includes defending districts in administrative hearings, arbitration, and state and federal court. He regularly presents on school law topics to district leaders and professional associations across the state.
